Lahuriyadah village of Halia development block, located about 70 km from the district headquarters, is included in the backward area. The story here is passed down from generation to generation. The population of this village is about 2000. The people of the village get ration from the card itself and water is supplied through the card itself. The only difference is that we get 3 kg of ration every month and 5 liters of water every day.

In view of the shortage of water in the village, water is being supplied through tankers. This also comes only once in 3 days. According to a person, only 15 liters of water is given from the tanker. For this people have to wait for the tanker.

When men wait for water, work is lost. When they go to work, it becomes difficult to juggle water. Therefore, most of the women take care of the water system. Sometimes fights also take place here.

The people of this village are forced to fill water from the mountain spring, about 4 km away from the house. In the rain, water is available just fine. In other months the water is reduced. After that slowly the water from the mountain comes into the pool, then they fill the water in their box with a lot.

The problem has not been solved since independence
The shortage of water in the village, which persists throughout the year, has also become a hindrance in the way of settling down of people. No one wants to marry his daughter in this village. Since independence, till date no government has been able to end the problem of water. The leaders who arrived during the elections make promises but to no avail.
