OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS Buds with ANC Unveiled: Check Specifications, Prices and More

New Delhi: Handset maker OnePlus has just unveiled the OnePlus Buds Z2, the successor to its budget true wireless earbuds. The OnePlus Buds Z2 looks similar to the previous-gen Buds Z with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), months after its unveiling in China, with 11mm dynamic drivers being launched globally. The TWS earbuds are currently only available in Pearl White color option and an Obsidian Black color variant is likely to arrive next year.

Launched at OnePlus’ home turf in October for CNY 499 or around Rs 6,000, the OnePlus Buds Z2 is currently available for $99 which roughly translates to Rs 7,600. The white color option of OnePlus Buds Z2 can be purchased in the US. The latest TWS buds from OnePlus will also be available in Europe and the UK starting next week.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 is likely to come with a similar price tag when launched in India alongside the expected OnePlus RT, for which the event is expected not too far away.

OnePlus Buds Z2 Specifications

The OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS Buds come with 11mm dynamic drivers which are an upgrade over the 10mm drivers from the previous generation OnePlus Buds Z. The company says that this year’s Buds Z2 are capable of delivering up to 40dB of noise cancellation. The larger drivers are accompanied by a Transparency Mode that lets users listen to music and hear ambient sounds during calls.

In terms of design, the OnePlus Buds Z2 comes with a 15 percent shorter stem and lighter weight than the Buds Z. IP55-rated for dust, water and sweat resistance. The bundled charging case is IPX4-rated only for resistance against water splashes.

In terms of battery, each TWS bud packs a 40mAh battery and the charging case houses a 520mAh battery, which means 38 hours of battery life. The Buds can provide 7 hours of battery life on a single charge with ANC off and they can provide 5 hours of battery life with ANC on. The company’s proprietary Flash Charge gives juice for 5 hours on the buds and 10 minutes on the case.

The customizable gestures on the OnePlus Buds Z2 can be activated directly via OxygenOS. Also, the HeyMelody app can let users set up similar customizations. Hey for optimization for those using OnePlus devices

Connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.2 which offers latency rates as low as 94ms in Pro Gaming Mode. Apart from this, there are also other modes like Cinematic Movie, Mobile Gaming, Immersive Music Mode for custom adjustments.
