ONE: Denice Zamboanga vows return to form in crucial Manila bout

MANILA, Philippines – Determined to get her winning ways back after two consecutive losses, Denise Zamboanga looks to take care of business against China’s Lin Heqin at ONE FIGHT NIGHT 5 at the Mall Of Asia Arena on Saturday.

“This is a very important fight for me because I just came from a loss and this fight, I want to make sure I get back to rank No. 1 and fight for the title,” Zamboanga said at the pre-fight press conference. Solaire Resort & Casino on Wednesdays.

The 25-year-old Filipino, who is currently ranked No. 3 in the ONE Championship Women’s Atomweight division, has taken Seo Hee Ham one blow after another. She lost by a controversial split decision last year before dropping a unanimous decision in their rematch in Singapore last year.

Zamboanga (8-2) is eager to prove himself and earn a title shot.

“That is the goal, to get the atomweight title. This fight, I’m going to show that Dennis the Menace is coming back and I want to show how Filipinos are the best fighters,” she said.

In his first ONE Championship match at home, Zamboanga vows not to disappoint the Filipino fans as he takes on Eduard Folayang and Jackie Bunton in the opening card of Light Heavyweight Champion Reinier de Ridder’s title defense against Interim Heavyweight Champion Anatoly Malykhin joined with.

“I am very excited and grateful that ONE Championship has given me this opportunity. And also to fight my brother in the same week. I’ll make sure your tickets for this fight night are pricey.”
