Omicron does not last more than 20 minutes in the air: droplets from sneezing and coughing become weak after 6 feet, hence less infection in villages

The virus of the new variant of Corona, Omicron, cannot survive in the air for more than 20 minutes. This is the reason that where there is less congestion, its effect is getting less. Experts say that droplets go up to 3 to 4 feet when someone sneezes or coughs. After 5 to 6 feet, its droplets become weak and die.

Immunologist and Respiratory Disease Specialist Dr. Virendra Singh said that Kovid infection spreads rapidly in cities and metros. Its impact is less in villages. Because it cannot stay in the air for long. They say that when someone sneezes or coughs, the droplets go up to 3 to 4 feet. After this, after 5 to 6 feet, its droplets become weak and die.

He told that traveling time is more in big cities to go from one place to another. For example, in Delhi, it takes one and a half hour for a person to travel 50 km. It takes 20 to 30 minutes in Jaipur to reach the city. The rest of the district headquarters of Rajasthan takes only 10-15 minutes to travel in the city. Therefore, the longer the Kovid infected travels in the city, the more the risk of infection also increases. Whereas in villages where the population is less, the possibility of spreading the infection is also less.

Corona spreading rapidly in big districts
In the third wave of Corona, the infection is much less in small districts and cities, tribal areas, villages and towns as compared to metros and big cities. The total number of active cases of corona in Rajasthan till January 17 was 66742. In this, there are 40622 active cases in 6 big cities- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Bikaner and Alwar falling in NCR. In such a situation, only these 6 districts are heavy in terms of infection over the rest of the 27 districts of the state. Districts with small towns – 24 in Jalore, 123 in Karauli, 228 in Bundi, 454 in Baran, 460 in Tonk, 473 in Jhalwad, Jhunjhunu have only 477 Kovid active cases. Similarly, active cases are less in rural areas.

Less spreading infection in villages
Sources reveal that the infection is spreading more rapidly in cities than in villages. More than 90 percent of infection cases have been found in urban areas only. Even among the patients admitted to the hospital due to Kovid, the number of urban patients is being seen many times more than the patients of rural areas. In Rajasthan, the infection of corona is spreading less in villages-towns and small-town districts, while the major reason for spreading more infection in metros-big cities is believed to be more movement of people from other states or districts there.

The second wave caused havoc in the villages
The second wave of Corona brought havoc in the villages. The third wave has once again raised concerns, but the good news is that the Omicron variant is showing less effect in villages this time around. The biggest reason for this is that the variant is weak this time.
