After Prabhsimran’s enthralling century against the capital city, an old video of Tendulkar appreciating the batting skills of the Patiala-born player has gone viral.

Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh hit an incredible century against Delhi Capitals as PBKS registered a massive 31-run win over the capital city team in IPL 2023 on Saturday.

Prabhasimran’s brilliant 103 in just 65 balls, which included 10 fours and 6 sixes, was an absolute treat to watch. And after his scintillating innings, an old video of Sachin Tendulkar, the greatest batsman to have ever played the game, has gone viral, praising the Patiala-born’s batting skills.

In an old video, Tendulkar spoke highly of the batsman during the 2020 edition of the IPL, saying that “I have seen Prabhasimran play. I saw him play yesterday and I really liked it. His backlift and swing of the bat is free-flowing,” said the Mumbai-born veteran.

“When the ball hits his bat, the sound it makes is amazing. So I think he can be a dangerous batsman,” Sachin said.

DC won the toss and opted to bowl first and took an early lead as they managed to dismiss the dangerous Shikhar Dhawan for just 7 runs in the second over of the game through Ishant Sharma.

The lanky fast bowler gave his team another boost as he sent back Liam Livingstone for 4. Jitesh Sharma, Harpreet Brar and Shah Rukh Khan were all dismissed for single digits.

As wickets kept falling at the other end, Prabhasimran stood strong and played some scintillating cricketing shots on the way to his brilliant hundred. Sam Curran and Sikandar Raza scored 20 and 11 runs respectively as PBKS posted 167 runs on the board at the end of 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process.

Delhi started the chase well, as David Warner and Phil Salt began with a 69-run partnership before Harpreet Brar struck to dismiss the Englishman.

Brar, Nathan Ellis and Rahul Chahar took 8 wickets between themselves on the day, while Brar, the wrecker-in-chief, took 4 wickets to help PBKS seal a crucial win by restricting DC to a mammoth total of 136 for 8.
