Ola Electric earns Rs 1,100 cr from two-day Ola S1, S1 Pro sale, see next sale date

New Delhi: Ola co-founder Bhavish Agarwal on Friday said sales of its S1 electric scooter crossed Rs 1,100 crore in two days.

The executive said the company has closed the buying process for now, but the buying window will reopen on November 1, in time for Diwali.

On Wednesday, Ola Electric began the sales process of its electric scooter, which comes in two trims – Ola S1 and S1 Pro. The company sold scooters worth Rs 600 crore on the first day.

In a tweet, Agarwal said, “Day 2 of the EV era was even better than Day 1! Crossed 1100 cr in sales in 2 days! Purchase window will reopen on 1st Nov, so reserve now.”

In a blog post, Agarwal said that the enthusiasm and enthusiasm that customers showed for the products, remained the same throughout.

“In a total of 2 days, we have raked in over Rs 1,100 crore in sales! This is not only unprecedented in the automotive industry, but it is also the highest in a single day (by value) for a single product in Indian e-commerce. One of more sales. History! We are truly living in a digital India,” he said.

While the sale of the e-scooter was to begin on September 8, it was postponed for a week till September 15, as the company faced “technical difficulties” in building a website for customers to purchase. . The e-scooter is currently available for purchase only on the Ola app and not on the website.

Delivery will start from October 2021. Buyers will be notified of estimated delivery dates within 72 hours of purchase.

On August 15, the company introduced its Ola S1 electric scooter in two variants – S1 and S1 Pro – for Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999 respectively (ex-showroom, excluding FAME II subsidy and state subsidy).

Ola Electric opened pre-launch bookings for its electric scooters in July for Rs 499 and received 1 lakh orders in just 24 hours. However, the company has not disclosed how many orders it has received so far.

Ola is setting up a manufacturing plant spread over 500 acres in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs 2,400 crore.
