Odisha CM seeks PM Modi’s intervention to continue studies of students who have returned from Ukraine. Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik wrote to the Prime Minister on Sunday Narendra Modi Seeking his intervention to continue the studies of war-ravaged students Ukraine,
Naveen urges Modi to intervene national medical commission and to facilitate the concerned Ministries to continue the study of such students in medical colleges in India from the stage where their studies have been interrupted by the war in Ukraine.
“This is an unprecedented crisis that has the potential to disrupt the careers of many thousands of young men and women who have already gone through the trauma of being in a war zone”, he said.
The Chief Minister said that in view of the war situation in Ukraine, a large number of medical students from Odisha and other parts of India had to return home. “The disruption in his studies is likely to continue until the end of hostilities and normalcy is restored at his universities in Ukraine,” Naveen said.

The Chief Minister assured full cooperation of the State Government to implement a workable solution for this purpose.
Around 500 students from Odisha study medical courses in different cities of Ukraine. About 400 Odia students have been moved to safer areas by the state government, while about 380 of them have crossed the border from Ukraine into Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
More than 300 students from the state have already returned to India with the help of state and central government. In order to expedite the evacuation process of Odia students, the state government has appointed special representatives to coordinate with the embassies of various neighboring countries of Ukraine and the Office of the Resident Commissioners in New Delhi.
A help desk has been set up by the state government in Mumbai and at the Resident Commissioner’s office in New Delhi to help Odia students stranded in Ukraine.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had called the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the External Affairs Minister. S Jaishankar Urged him to ensure the safe return of Odia students from the war-torn country.
