NPP, BJP Are Acids For Meghalaya: Mohua Moitra

Shillong, 25 February (IANS) | Campaigning for her party, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Saturday said both the National People’s Party (NPP) and the BJP are acid for Meghalaya as they have done nothing but harm to the state.

Addressing a public meeting at Tikrikila in West Garo Hills, he targeted the NPP and the BJP.


The Lok Sabha MP hit out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for calling Meghalaya a corrupt state, while condemning the anti-minority stand of the BJP.

“Amit Shah declared Meghalaya as the most corrupt state. But, how can he say that after being in the government for the last five years? BJP wants a nation which is a Hindu nation. BJP is anti-minority and they are responsible for weakening Are.” secular fabric of our country,” the Lok Sabha MP said.

Taking a jibe at the Conrad Sangma-led MDA government, Mahua Moitra said, “Tikrikilla has only one college, but sadly it has no infrastructure to offer science or commerce degrees. The condition is very pathetic.” Meghalaya.”

Moitra further said, “In a democracy, it is the duty of the elected government to provide drinking water, educational infrastructure, roads and health facilities. These are the basic amenities that the people of Meghalaya are entitled to.”
