Google announced plans to add augmented reality Objects to find at your I/O conference in 2019. Since then, the company has added many 3D elements such as animals, dinosaurs, space objects and more to the quest. Now, Google search Quietly added 3D monuments. This means that users can now view monuments in augmented reality and also see details that are difficult to see in an ordinary photograph.
How to View a Monument in 3D on Google Search
Searching for 3D monuments in a Google search is quite simple. When you search the name of a monument in the app. You can see ‘View in 3D’ option in the results. From that option, you can see a 3D rotating model that can be zoomed in. Although the model is not high-resolution, it still provides a better understanding than a regular image.
You can also place a 3D model of the Monument in your environment if you have an Android smartphone with Android 7.0 or higher, or an iPhone/iPad with iOS 11 or higher. The ‘view in your space’ option uses your camera and allows you to view 3D monuments in your space. You can also take photos and short videos of the models.
As of now, visualization in 3D is available only for 98 monuments and no Indian monuments are on the list. Google continues to add 3D elements to the search option and expect more monuments to be added to the list soon.
Google also recently launched a global first search feature in India that enables users to hear search results out loud. The feature is available in Hinglish (a conversational hybrid of Hindi and English) and in five Indian languages ​​including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil.
