Now, Voting Message On Milk And Bread Packets | Kanpur News – Times of India

KANPUR: Citizens of Kanpur city will receive a message “Kanpur Votes On 20 Feb” when they will purchase milk packets and bread packets from next week. It is a new and unique effort to create awareness for voting on February 20 for Legislative assembly elections. The idea was of district magistrate Neha Sharma who had convened a meeting with bread manufacturers and milk and processed milk companies and all of them supported her move.
The proposal was very well supported by the GST and food & safety department and the manufacturers and bakers had assured that around 2.5 lakhs houses of the city would get a message for one week about the voting. The district magistrate sought active cooperation from the representatives in this campaign. The idea was to encourage more and more voters to cast their votes.
Surendra Singh Deputy Commissioner State GST (admin), VP Singh Designated officer food security and drug administration, Susheel Sachan food security officer, and representatives of Namaste India, Amul, Parag, and Ananda Milk companies, Mother Bread, Meera Bakers, Ankur bread, Avon Bread, Morning Choice were present. The representatives commented that they would target 2.5 lakhs families per day to create awareness among them. Meanwhile, to ensure a hundred percent voting the administration district flew a voters awareness air balloon at Kargil park in Moti Jheel on Saturday. The balloon was flown in presence of District Election officer Neha Sharma and Rajesh Singh Rana general observers for one week. The general observer Rana for the Bilhaur assembly seat asked the participants to take a pledge for voting on February 20, 2022. Under the signature campaign, the district election officer who is also the district magistrate put her signature on canvas. Besides state GST deputy commissioner Rohit Malhotra civil defense chief & wardens and representatives of other organizations were present on this occasion.
