Now running electric trains between Gorakhpur, Nautanwa. Varanasi News – Times of India

Gorakhpur: Electric trains CPRO Pankaj Kumar Singh said that from Gorakhpur to India-Nepal border, Nautanwa railway station started running from Thursday.
“The preparations were made on Saturday after the inspection and approval of the Commissioner of Railway Safety, and on Thursday the first electric train 05105 Chhapra-Nautanwa Intercity left Gorakhpur railway station for Nautanwa railway station at 10.30 am. This train will run daily. Weekly Express Train Durg – Nautanwa Express 082201 Via Bhatni, Varanasi & Prayagraj left for Nautanwa at 8 PM on Thursday. Another weekly train 08205 Durg – Nautanwa Express train will depart from Gorakhpur on Friday via Mankapur and Ayodhya.
“A total of three trains – one daily and two weekly, will now run between Gorakhpur and Nautanwa. With the electrification of the track, time and money would be saved as earlier an electric locomotive was converted to a diesel engine which would have cost both time and money. The efficiency of the trains will be increased and the electrification of 42 km track between Gorakhpur and Anand Nagar station has already been completed,” the CPRO said.
With the introduction of the first electric train, electrification will make the transportation of goods to Nepal easier. The electrification work on the Anandnagar-Badni-Gonda route is also expected to be completed by March next year. The Ministry of Railways has set a target of electrification of railway tracks by 2023.
