Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a sentence in murder and rape case, has reached Baghpat. He has come out of jail on 30 days parole. After getting parole of one month from Rohtak Jail, Gurmeet Ram Rahim had demanded to stay at Barnawa Ashram in Baghpat. After reaching the ashram, at 12 noon, Sant Gurmeet Ram-Rahim came live on his official page. He appealed to his supporters to stay at home.

Now you are requested to stay in your respective homes. Keep doing your work. May you guys be happy always. To obey the promise, also support the administration. Do what they want. Stay in your homes till further orders. You guys have done it before. You also have to listen to the words of the sevadars.

Came to Baghpat with brother and daughter

Ram Rahim was not in jail for us – supporters

A supporter outside the ashram told that when I came to know that father has come to the ashram, I came with the family to see him. We have come here from Haryana. We are so happy that I cannot tell. On the other hand, Anita said that when she got information about her father’s arrival, she went away. For us, father was not in jail, he was with us. We were just waiting for him to appear.

Jail serving in rape case since 2017

Let us inform, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is lodged in Rohtak jail in Haryana since 2017 after his conviction in rape cases. Ram Rahim Singh will complete the period of one month of parole in this ashram. Earlier in February, the Dera chief was given leave of three weeks. The Dera chief is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two women at his ashram and Dera headquarters in Haryana’s Sirsa.

Convicted of conspiracy to murder in 2002

The Dera chief was also convicted for hatching a conspiracy to kill Dera manager Ranjit Singh in 2002. In 2019, he and three others were convicted for the murder of a journalist. He was convicted of conspiring with his co-accused for the murders.

Gurmeet has come out of jail 3 times in 1 year

The Dera chief had sought emergency parole for 21 days on May 17, 2021, citing the mother’s illness. On this application, he got parole of 12 hours on 21 May 2021. In February 2022, the Dera chief was given leave of three weeks. Now he is again out on 1 month payroll on 17th June 2022.

The political wing of the dera was formed in 2006-07.

The dera was established in 1948 by Shah Mastana. In 1960, Shah sat on the throne of Satnam Dera. After this, in 1990, at the age of 23, Ram Rahim sat on the throne of the dera. In 2006-07, Dera Sacha Sauda formed a political wing. This includes people loyal to the Dera chief. Along with this, 45 member committees of each state were also constituted.
