‘Not politics, it has become a circus’: Aditya on ED summons to Raut

New Delhi: After the Enforcement Directorate issued summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday (June 27, 2022), Maharashtra minister and party leader Aaditya Thackeray said this is no longer politics. Reacting to the summons and hitting out at the Center over it, Aaditya Thackeray said, “This is not politics, it has become a circus now.”

Additionally, Aaditya Thackeray took another dare to confront the rebel Shiv Sena leaders face to face and tell what is wrong with the government. Aaditya Thackeray called the Shinde camp “rebels, not anti-nationals” and said, “Those who fled here and are calling themselves rebels, if they want to rebel, they should have done so here. They should have resigned and contested the elections.” The second floor test would happen when they would sit in front of me, look into my eyes and say what did we do wrong.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, on the other hand, termed the ED summons issued to him as a “conspiracy” to stop him from fighting against his political opponents, and said he would not be able to appear before the agency on Tuesday as he has to Attended a meeting in Alibaug. Raut, who is the chief spokesperson of Shiv Sena, also said that even if he is killed, he will not resort to the “Guwahati route” adopted by the rebel MLAs of Maharashtra.

The development comes when the Shiv Sena revolts against a group of its MLAs, putting a question mark on the future of Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

The rebel Shiv Sena MLAs, who were earlier taken to Surat, are now camping in Guwahati.

In a tweet, Raut said, “I have just learned that ED has summoned me. Good! There are big political developments in Maharashtra. We, Balasaheb’s Shiv Sainiks are fighting a big battle. This is a conspiracy to stop me. Even though You just cut off my head, I will not take the Guwahati route.”

“Arrest me! Jai Hind!” He added.

In his tweet in Marathi, he also tagged BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis. Later talking to reporters, Raut said, “I cannot go tomorrow as I have to attend a public meeting in Alibaug and I will attend it.”
