‘Not in good taste’: Hema Malini reacts to Maharashtra minister’s ‘cheek’ remark

Veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini has expressed displeasure over the statement of Maharashtra Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Gulabrao Patil. The minister compared Hema Malini’s cheeks to the smooth roads of her constituency. Responding to the statement, Hema said that such comments are not a good choice and no woman should be used to say such things.

Meanwhile, the State Commission for Women had demanded strict legal action against the minister, following which Gulabrao Patil apologized for his remarks.

Speaking to ANI, Hema Malini said that former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav started this trend many years ago, and it continues even now. At the same time, he also expressed concern that the remarks were not made by any general public but by the elected members.

Asked if she would ask Patil to apologize for the statement, she said, “I don’t care about all these things.”

However, following the complaint of the Women’s Commission, the minister apologized for his remarks and said that he did not mean to hurt anyone’s sentiments.

What is the whole matter?

On Sunday, Gulabrao Patil held a political rally in which the minister compared the streets to Hema Malini’s cheeks while speaking on the development done in his constituency. “Those who have been MLAs for 30 years, come to my assembly constituency and see the roads. If these are not like Hema Malini’s cheeks then I will resign. This statement created a ruckus on the social media platform.
