Not afraid of Owaisi, will celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day: Amit Shah India News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that unlike the ruling TRS, the BJP is not afraid of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM and will remember it. Hyderabad Liberation Day After being elected in the state on 17 September. Addressing a public meeting in Nirmal, he alleged that CM K Chandrashekhar Rao went back on his resolve to declare September 17 as Telangana day.
He said, “TRS governs with the support of AIMIM and Congress does not have the courage to compete with them. After coming to power in the next (assembly) election, we will officially declare September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day. ” The princely state of Hyderabad was officially made a part of the Union on September 17, 1948, after the Indian Army marched into the Nizam-ruled area. The BJP has consistently alleged that the TRS does not celebrate this historic event as it would anger the followers of AIMIM who were initially against the merger with India.
Shah’s Telangana visit comes just ahead of the crucial Huzurabad Assembly bypoll and will play a key role in consolidating the party cadre. The by-election, which was expected to be held in the last week of October, comes after former state minister Eatala Rajendra resigned as an MLA after he was dropped from the state cabinet on corruption charges.
Clarifying that BJP opposes reservation on the basis of religion, Shah said the cause of ‘liberation of Telangana’ (from TRS) will be fulfilled only when BJP comes to power and celebrates the day without any fear.
“The Congress is losing its grip across the country and the BJP is expanding in the state as well. I am confident that we will win all the assembly constituencies in the 2024 elections,” he said. He urged the party workers to work hard and win all the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in the next elections.
