Norwegian Dance Group ‘Quickstyle’ Announces Reels Challenge On Their Maiden India Tour- Watch

Mumbai: Norwegian dance group Kwikstyle, on their first ever India tour, announced the Reels Challenge while addressing a gathering of over 350 content creators at Meta’s office in Mumbai. The challenge is to dance to the song “Dilbar” by @tech_panda, and gives people ample opportunity to do their own version of the challenge.

Quikstyle’s wedding performance on the song “Kala Chashma” was trending on reels last year and grabbed the world’s attention. Since his Reel went viral in June 2022, it has been noticed by public figures such as Demi Lovato, Jimmy Fallon and Shikhar Dhawan, resulting in billions of plays. Bilal Malik, one of the founders of the group said, “We are thrilled with the love people in India have for QuikStyle. The love that started with the trending ‘Kala Chashma’ continues today. Want to learn from, connect with the culture here, and inspire others to find their jam, the way we dance to the music and reels.

QuikStyle collaborated with creators and public figures for their Reels, which will be released over the course of the next two weeks. The group has also worked in-person and virtually with over 350 content creators across India, who are part of our Born on Instagram creator education and enablement program.

Paras Sharma, Director and Head of Content and Community Partnerships, Facebook India (Meta), said, “Reels are the way young people in India are connecting, creating and collaborating around the things they love. QuickStyle is a great example of this creative expression as they became a sensation on Instagram and went viral around the world; In the process, taking Indian music to the global stage. In line with our aim to inspire creators and promote interesting content, we are delighted to work with QuikStyle and facilitate these collaborations.

As part of QuikStyle’s challenge, people have to create their own content based on “Dilbar”. In the words of the group, “It’s not super easy, but not too hard either. You can do it anywhere. It’s not about doing it the best way. It’s about doing it your way.” .
