Srinagar: A non-local laborer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen late on Friday night in Nihama area of Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
Official sources said the 35-year-old laborer, identified as Shankar Chaudhary from Bihar, was brought from Nihama to the district hospital Kulgam where doctors declared him brought dead.
The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kulgam, Dr Muzaffar Zargar, confirmed that the non-locals were shot in the head. “He was brought dead,” he said.
A police officer said that an investigation into the incident has been started. (GNS)
