Noida’s restaurants are down again; The owners expect the business to pick up speed soon. Noida News – Times of India

After Gurgaon and Delhi, restaurants in Noida were given the go-ahead by the authorities to reopen at 50% capacity from June 21. However, unlike Delhi and Gurgaon, restaurants in this part of the city have not received a “very encouraging” response in the past few days. Nevertheless, the restaurateurs are hopeful that in the coming days, they will be able to get enough footfall to sustain operations.
“I think as long as we are allowed to be open only till 9 pm, the footfall will be less. Closing at 9 pm means we have to take our last order by 8 pm and it is not possible for business. Also, there is still a weekend curfew in Noida, and weekends are the only time we get good business during the day. We are expecting that after July 30, there will be some relaxation in the rules of eateries. If not, we are planning to write a letter to the authorities requesting them to give us some relaxation or at least allow us to remain open on weekends. Varun Khera, Noida Chapter Head National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), which has reopened its two outlets, desi vibes and in Kafia, Noida. He says that despite restaurants reopening in Noida, some people are driving to the neighboring areas of Delhi to eat outside instead of eating out. “I think it is because of timing. Restaurants in Delhi are allowed to remain open till 10 pm and they too opened a week before Noida,” says Kheda.
The glimmer of hope for businesses is that the number of delivery orders is still high and this is helping the outlets to maintain operations. “Since we have an outlet in a mall, it is a bit more difficult for us as the mall is not allowing visitors after 8 pm. Therefore, we can also work for fewer hours than the rest. But the good thing is that we have a large number of orders for delivery. We are expecting that in the coming days, if we are allowed to remain open on weekends, the rush of people may increase,” says Satyajit Dhingra, Chief Regional Officer – North, Impresario Handmade Restaurants. Social In a mall in Sector 18.
Restaurant owners say that with most outlets in Noida now reopening, they will have to start operations with limited staff. “It took us about four days to assemble the staff and reopened our outlet on Friday. With other outlets reopening, it is important for us to restart business now. Also, I think even if we don’t get any business in the initial days of reopening, we have to start operations so that customers also feel confident enough to return. We have to reopen with all safety precautions and right now our focus is to provide a safe dining space to the guests – only then can we expect better business in the days to come,” says Sharad Madan, Co-Founder, incomplete in Noida.
