NOIDA: Four years after his name was linked with the firing incident on a Delhi-based businessman Hashim Khan – an aide of gangster Abu. SalemThe infamous D Company member – has been arrested by the Noida unit of STF.
The accused along with Gajendra Singh was involved in handling affairs and earning money for Salem and the gangster. Zafar Supari Ambedkar was allegedly active between 2014-15 in NCR by showing fake plots to more people.
When asked to return the money, the accused allegedly threatened people by taking the names of Salem and Supari.
The accused was arrested at around 8.35 pm on Tuesday night with a 315 bore pistol and three 315 bore cartridges from near Labor Chowk.
According to STF officials, in 2014, Gajendra Singh had taken Rs 1.8 crore from a Delhi-based businessman Mukesh Bhargava on the pretext of selling his property. When asked to return the money, Singh plotted an attack on the businessman and arranged for the shooters to shoot at him in Sector 18.
The businessman in the car managed to escape from the spot. The attack took place in May 2017 in which an FIR was registered under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 427 (causing causing harm) and 34 (common intention).
The businessman had filed an FIR saying that he was duped of Rs 1.8 crore by the accused in the name of investment in the property, who later refused to return his money and threatened him in the name of D company.
Harish has been identified as a sharpshooter from Salem and close to Supari’s younger brother Khan Mubarak. STF officials said Harish had come in contact with Gajendra, an investor in the gangster, when he had gone to meet Abu Salem during the court hearing.
STF said that Salem had introduced Gajendra to Zafar Betel and Harish Khan who was with him.
DySP STF, Raj Kumar Mishra told TOI that Gajendra had transferred Rs 10 lakh in the account of Ram Prakash VermaA brick kiln owner in Ambedkar Nagar was to be paid to Khan Mubarak and also paid Rs 8 lakh to Harish Khan for carrying out the firing.
He said, “Both Gajendra and Raj Prakash have been arrested in connection with the case earlier in 2020. Soon after Gajendra’s arrest in 2020, accused Harish Khan left for Mumbai, where he was staying till now. ”
During interrogation, he said that Singh confessed to extorting Rs 52 lakh from Sector 20 resident Vineet Chauhan.
Singh also told the police that he is a distant relative of the gangsters. Sundar Bhati, who is from western UP, and Azad Bansal of Ghaziabad.
