Noida: A 45-year-old rickshaw driver was allegedly hit by a car while crossing the road near Gate No 2 of Electronic City Metro station on Tuesday in a hit-and-run case.
The victim reportedly asked the driver to slow down but he (the driver) got angry at the remark. Enraged, the accused allegedly ran over the rickshaw driver, who sustained a fracture in his right leg.
According to family members of rickshaw driver Dilip Kumar, the incident took place around 10 am on Tuesday when he was crossing the road adjacent to the Electronic City Metro station and parked his rickshaw on one side.
Dilip’s wife Seema told TOI that when he was crossing the road he saw a bright blue colored car approaching him.
“I asked the driver to drive slowly, but he got annoyed at the remark and angrily ran over to me and ran away from the spot. Neighbors came to my rescue and noted down the vehicle number.
While the incident happened on Tuesday, Dileep’s family members told TOI that they could not give a written complaint to the police.
A Twitter user named Rakesh Yadav tweeted about the matter to Noida Police, Additional Commissioner of Police (HQ) and DCP (Central Noida) after the police were informed about it.
