Noida: Class 11 Girl Sexually Harassed, Got Rape Threats; School Ignored

New Delhi: As many as 5 students have been booked for assaulting and molesting a fellow classmate at their school in Noida, leading to an ongoing police investigation. The girl’s father stated that she initially reported incidents of “sexual harassment” to the school principal on October 9, but the accused continued to misbehave with her on October 13, prompting the father to involve the police.

The private school, located in Noida Sector 100, has also initiated its own inquiry into the matter, which is described as “interdisciplinary.”

The police have registered an FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rioting, causing hurt, assault, sexual assault, and criminal intimidation.

The father, in his complaint on October 13, claimed that despite his daughter informing the school principal about the “vulgar” conversations and “sexual harassment” by the accused students and objecting to their behavior, the school responded by saying, “we can go to any limits.”

The father further alleged that one of the accused students threatened to kill his daughter.

In a statement released on Saturday, the school acknowledged the “unfortunate incident” on its campus and stated that it is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
