Star all-rounder Moeen Ali has urged England not to worry about a losing start under Jos Buttler’s captaincy, insisting that the team will peak at the right time. “Jose is a fantastic leader. He’s done it over the years when Eoin hasn’t played, but it’s going to take a few games across all formats,” Moeen Ali was quoted as saying by SkySports. How calm Vijay wants to get off to a start but he knows there is a long way to go and the team will be fine.
“There is no need to panic or change. It definitely takes time to fall asleep and there will be some losers, which is fine. We have been dominating and playing well for the last few years. We have had a lot of success but sometimes I feel we don’t want to peak too quickly.
“We want to win now but you don’t want to win all the games. Sometimes you learn more from losing games. We have lost a few matches at the moment but it is good for us going forward and closer to the World Cup we will start winning .
Moeen was named by Morgan as a possible successor when he stood down, in recognition of his growing influence in the dressing room. Now, with eight years of international cricket and 232 caps, the 35-year-old is ready to support Buttler.
“We need to step up as senior players in the team. When it is your turn to do it, you will do it,” he said.
“Jose talks to the bowlers first, but he asks me to go to the bowler sometimes. it works well. He was always like this when Morges didn’t play. There is no problem in having a keeper as captain. ,
