“No Names Till…”: Row Over Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau Order

Jaipur:

Anti-Corruption Bureau officials in Rajasthan have said in a controversial order that the names of people caught in corruption cases through fake operations cannot be made public until they are found guilty in the trial. Attacking the Ashok Gehlot government, the state’s opposition BJP has said that this is proof that the government is supporting corruption.

BJP’s Rajendra Rathore, deputy leader of the opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, tweeted that the Gehlot government was now becoming a “shield of the corrupt”.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has passed this order as soon as the new chief Hemant Priyadarshi took charge.

It has been said in the order that the names of the people caught in the corruption raid can come to the fore only after it is proved in the court. However, the designation and department of the stranded person can be made public.

BJP state president Satish Poonia tweeted:

The state’s ruling Congress is yet to react on the issue.
