No local train in West Bengal till 30th August. Kolkata News – Times of India

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that local trains Unless the state government manages to vaccinate 50% of the rural population coming to Kolkata from adjoining districts using suburban train services, she will not be allowed to walk.
He said that though people are asked to travel safely, but often they get stuck in local trains, so the service cannot be resumed.
Thus the ban on local trains will continue till August 30, the CM said. He said that 75% of the population in urban areas have been given at least one dose. He said that keeping in view the proposed third wave, the state government is in favor of restrictions.
However, he relaxed the night restrictions, as from now on the night restrictions will be between 11 pm and 5 am. The CM hoped that this would help in doing business in a better way. He also relaxed norms for theaters and auditoriums with 50% seating capacity, which can now operate.
He said that though Bengal has the capacity to vaccinate 11 lakh people per day, hardly 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh people are vaccinated daily due to short supply of vaccines from the Centre. So, due to slow vaccination, the Bengal government on Thursday extended the restrictions till August 30.
