No jab, no salary: Punjab government comes up with a new policy to ensure COVID vaccination

New Delhi: Amidst a rise in cases of highly contagious omicron The Punjab government has issued an order saying that no salary will be given to government employees without the Kovid-19 vaccination certificate.

The ‘No Jab No Salary’ policy for government employees aims to promote COVID vaccination.

According to the reports, if they want their salary then they have to upload their certificate on the job portal of Punjab government.

However, there is no official word yet whether any fine or penalty will be imposed on those government employees who have not taken the COVID vaccination till date.

Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 138.96 crore with the administration of 57,05,039 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours as reported till 7 am on Wednesday.

With 6,906 patients being cured in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of patients who have recovered since the start of the pandemic has increased to 3,42,01,966.

As a result, the country’s recovery rate stands at 98.40%, the highest since March 2020, the ministry said.

The ministry said that so far more than 147 crore vaccine doses have been provided to the states and union territories through the free channel of the Center and through the direct state procurement category.

More than 17.73 crore remaining and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States and UTs to be administered.

The ministry further said that the vaccination drive has been expedited through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to the States and Union Territories for better planning and streamlining of the vaccine supply chain.

Supporting the States and Union Territories by providing them free of cost vaccines, the Central Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by Vaccines in the new phase of Universalization of COVID-19 Immunization Campaign. manufacturers of states and union territories in the country.
