“The ruling BJP will retain power comfortably and can win a minimum of 130 seats and a maximum of 224,” he said.

The state assembly has 224 seats. “Voters will not like the Congress-JD(S) coalition government and instead they will vote for a stable government led by the BJP,” he said.

on congress

Taking a dig at the Congress’ stand in the upcoming Karnataka elections, he said, ‘BJP is running a very clear campaign, when a political party starts playing appeasement fuzzy football, we have a problem with that. BJP is very clear about itself as a political party, it has never discriminated in whatever BJP has done in Karnataka.

He said, ‘BJP has not done politics of freebies. We do politics of development…people want a better future, and are not looking for handouts. Buying your vote by breaking it is the politics of the 70s.

When a party mentions in its manifesto about banning an organisation, “we will stand by that”, said Rajeev Chandrasekhar, in an apparent reference to the Congress manifesto, which includes groups like the Popular Front of India (PFI). informed about the possible action against Bajrang Dal.

technological progress

“In 2015, when PM Modi launched Digital India, he said I want technology to change the lives of Indians. I want it to affect democracy… create more opportunities for entrepreneurship, to expand the economy. He had said that India needs to become a producer of technology from a consumer of technology.

He recalled: “At first, Indian rule was slow. The Chinese also argued that large countries like India needed an authoritarian system. Democracy could not deliver results due to corrosive infrastructure. It was a story about India. Fast forward to the past nine years, using technology, we have turned the narrative on its head. The Rs 100 earmarked for the beneficiary reaches him directly instead of the earlier Rs 15. This shows the power of technology in the context of a country like India. Aadhaar or UPI has become the center of a robust system.”

Chandrasekhar said: “India Stack is earning the awe, respect of countries across the globe…Who would have thought that decisions taken to solve governmental problems would spawn an ecosystem of this size…Global India Stack conference to be held in June will be held, where many countries will participate. We seem to be Digital India 1.0 and in the next few months, we will push the paddle even further… India Stack with India AI will enable us to build India Stack 2.0 and complete and accelerate digitization. The government wants to use AI. We expect the stack to get smarter…Citizen and governance partnerships have an impact on the innovation ecosystem.

On Startups and the Next Wave

Technology has an important role in the “New India” which is the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Creating…Technology has a role in governance, in creating an enlightened citizen. The use of technology has further deepened public trust in the government,” he said.

“It is an absolutely great time to be a start-up,” said Chandrasekhar. It is the “easiest thing to do today”, the IT minister said, as he referred to the government’s focus on ease of doing business and reduction in compliance.

“The next wave in Karnataka and Bengaluru will be electronic manufacturing, electronic design and AI among others. In 2014, the revenue from electronic manufacturing was Rs 1 lakh crore, in 10 years it is going to be Rs 27 lakh crore. I want Karnataka and Bengaluru to get a bigger share of it.
