No, Delhi University is not reopening, DU issues fake notice

Once again Delhi University had to refute the ‘fake news’ of reopening the university. On Wednesday, the university clarified that the DU reopening notice being circulated on social media is fake.

A viral notice on social media claims that Delhi University will reopen Delhi University colleges in a phased manner for both PG and UG course departments and centres.

This is the third time in the last year that the university had to quash a fake notice regarding reopening of the university. In September, the university had dismissed a similar fake notice.

Meanwhile, a large section of students has been demanding the DU authorities to reopen the colleges for physical classes. The Delhi University Students’ Union recently started an online petition demanding the reopening of the university. On several occasions, students have also taken to social media platforms to demand the reopening of colleges.

Students have been insisting on the fact that online classes have been of no help to hundreds of students who live in remote areas and do not have good internet access. They have not been able to attend a single class.
