Residents allege that the tank should be cleaned at least twice a year by the civic body. “The tank has not been cleaned for more than seven years now. When contacted by TOI, MCG executive engineer Vishal Garg said, “I recently took charge of the area and I am not aware of the matter. I will direct the concerned officer to inquire into the complaints of the residents. Usually we clean underground water tanks once a year, but it also depends on the amount of silt deposited in the tanks. If necessary, we clean them frequently.”
