Tamil film star Thalapathy Vijay’s father SA Chandrasekhar has rubbished claims of any bitterness between the actor and his mother Shoba Chandrasekhar. In an exclusive interview to News18 Tamil, the 76-year-old filmmaker said that there is no truth to the claims that he and Shoba were asked to wait outside Vijay’s house and the actor only asked his mother to come inside. was asked to Chandrashekhar says that he and his son have some problem, but there is no bitterness between Vijay and Shoba.
The strained relationship between Vijay and his father took another ugly turn when the actor filed a case against his parents in a Chennai court last week, alleging that they were using their names for their political agenda. Chandrashekhar had recently claimed in court that the political platform had already been dissolved earlier this year. According to the Times of India, Chandrashekhar told the court that the political forum was established on July 8, 2020 in Chennai under his chairmanship.
But in the general body meeting of the organization on 28 February this year, it was decided to dissolve Vijay Makkal Ayyakkam with immediate effect. He also said that all the members of the organization had tendered their resignations and they are now “ordinary admirers of actor Vijay”. Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till October 29.
Chandrashekhar told News18 Tamil about the origin of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. He said that he first started the Vijay fan club after the actor became popular. The 76-year-old filmmaker, who is known for making films on social issues, said he later changed the name to Vijay Charity Forum. The filmmaker said he encouraged Vijay’s fans to form local branches of the organization in every village.
Chandrashekhar further said that the Vijay People’s Movement or Vijay Makkal Iyakkam was the next incarnation of the organisation.
