PATNA: Appreciating the annual budget of his government for the financial year 2022-23, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Said on Monday that this will accelerate the pace of economic development in the state.
“This is a progressive and pro-people budget. This will further accelerate the growth rate of the state,” he said in a statement.
The CM also said that the total size of the expenditure estimated in the budget is Rs 2,37,691.18 crore. Of this, Rs 1,00,230.25 crore will be spent on development plans while Rs 1,37,460.94 crore will be spent on establishment and committed expenditure.
A maximum provision of Rs 39,191.87 crore has been made for the education department, while Rs 16,134.39 crore (for health department), Rs 15,456.47 crore (rural development) and Rs 14,372.76 crore (home department) have been made. An amount of Rs 11,475.97 has been proposed for the Energy Department.
Nitish said that the estimated capital expenditure in the financial year 2022-23 is 11 per cent higher than the previous financial year. “It will help in generating employment opportunities. It will also help in building more infrastructure,” he said.
The CM also said that the current budget is based on six points – health, education, investment in industries and industries, agriculture and allied sectors, infrastructure (rural and urban) and welfare of different sections of the society – aimed at the state government.
He said, ‘In this budget, provision has been made for the completion of the ongoing schemes under the Seven Nishchay-1 program and for the implementation of the schemes prescribed under the Saat Nishchay-2 program.
Nitish also said that development of all communities and all sections of the state would be possible with this budget.
Earlier in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Finance Minister of the state Tarkishore Prasad Presented the budget in the state assembly.
