The Chairperson and Founder of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani dedicated special shows of the international Broadway musical ‘The Sound of Music’ to 3,400 underprivileged children and senior citizens at the Nita Foundation. Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC). Reliance Foundation hosted 3400 children including specially abled children and senior citizens from various places across Mumbai. The Sound of Music featured two special shows during the weekend at NMACC.

To ensure that everyone has a magical experience, the initiative was supported by Reliance employee volunteers as well as 18 NGOs supported by the Education and Sports for All (ESA) programme. Over the years, through various sports and education initiatives, Reliance Foundation has supported the aspirations of children.

This year, in the month of May, ‘The Sound of Music’ made its debut at The Grand Theater with a historic run of eight weeks, the longest ever in Asia and the first time in the country.

After watching a scintillating performance that brings the Von Trapp family drama to life, excited children and senior citizens clap along to classics like ‘My Favorite Things’ and ‘Do-Re-Me’ – all in sync with the live Orchestra. After the concerts, he was overjoyed when he met the actors playing the von Trapp family.

As part of the ESA (Education and Sports for All) programme, every year Reliance Foundation organizes several events for underprivileged children, including a viewing event. IPL match, experience the Dhirubhai Ambani Square fountain show and spend a day at Jio Wonderland.
