The Delhi government on Sunday announced that night curfew will be imposed in the national capital from 11 pm to 5 am in view of the rising Covid-19 cases. Night curfew will come into effect from December 27.

Meanwhile, according to a health bulletin issued by the health department, Delhi on Sunday reported 290 fresh Covid-19 cases, and one death. On Saturday, 249 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the national capital.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), which formulates COVID-19 management policies for the capital, has earlier directed district magistrates to ensure that no New Year gatherings take place in the national capital. The DDMA also directed the District Magistrates (DMs) to identify possible COVID-19 superspreader areas before Christmas and New Year.

Amid the spread of the Omicron version of coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday also said that self-awareness and self-discipline are the strength of the country in fighting against the novel version of COVID.
