Former left-arm seamer Zaheer Khan lauded Mohammad Siraj for his ‘game changing’ spell in the Mumbai Test against New Zealand. Ajaz Patel’s 10-fer in the first innings bowled India out for 325, Siraj dealing early blows to the Kiwi camp by dismissing Will Young, Tom Latham and Ross Taylor with the new ball.
Talking to the users of Ballebazi.com, Zaheer said that the ball that Siraj bowled to clean bowled Ross Taylor was “magical”.

“Another game-changing spell was from Siraj when he took 3 early wickets in his first spell. On a pitch that was only assisting the spinners, it was amazing to pull off magic wickets like Ross Taylor. It was great to see Siraj playing to his strength and attacking for three wickets,” said Zaheer.
Siraj’s performance in the Mumbai Test, coupled with his debut show in Australia and later in England, forced many cricketing legends to shift their focus to the Hyderabad pacer.
For example, VVS Laxman, speaking on Star Sport, also praised Siraj’s style of bowling, in which he bowled with the right length and consistent seam on the Wankhede surface. “He is a huge asset to this Indian team. Make no mistake… He is one of the best players in the world right now.”
