TV star Nia Sharma revealed that she was initially meant to join Bigg Boss 18, but a sudden change of plans led to her withdrawal.

Television actress Nia Sharma made headlines after being confirmed as the first contestant for Bigg Boss 18 during the grand finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14. However, in an unexpected turn of events, she announced on October 6 that she wouldn’t be participating in the show, leaving fans disappointed and confused. Now, Nia has finally broken her silence on the fiasco, offering insights into what really happened.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Nia revealed that she was initially meant to join Bigg Boss 18, but a sudden change of plans led to her withdrawal. She explained, “It was Colors, and I was informed at the very last minute. I was supposed to be part of the Laughter Chef integration, but by the time they announced it, Laughter Chef got cancelled.” This left her in a strange situation, as the hype around her participation had already been created. Despite the abrupt change, she didn’t hold any grudge, adding, “The whole thing was to create buzz, and I think they succeeded.”

Nia further mentioned that it was entirely the network’s decision, and she fully supported their strategy. She said, “If they’re doing something using my name, it’s completely alright. I have two shows with them, and I respect their planning.”

Interestingly, Nia appreciated the attention the announcement garnered, admitting that the excitement around her name was massive. “The hype was huge, and I enjoyed it,” she remarked. She added humorously, “Until someone actually does Bigg Boss, people don’t give a f*ck.”

However, her decision to not participate also came with some backlash. Nia shared that she received hate messages and abuse from some fans who felt let down by her withdrawal. Despite this, she remained unfazed, choosing to focus on the positive side of things. “I felt I owed an apology to my fans for not going, but I take it in my stride. It was fun to experience that level of hype again.”

Lastly, the Jamai Raja actress remarked, “It was beautiful hype and a review that I saw myself after a very long time. Other than that, it’s all about my clothes, it’s how I dress up, how naked I am all the time about my cleavage. It’s time we moved on from there, and I think after Laughter Chefs quite a lot has changed.”
