NIA registers case of ‘waging war against India’ against SFJ ultra Jaswinder Singh Multani

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case against Jaswinder Singh Multani, an alleged member of banned separatist organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ), for hatching a criminal conspiracy to wage war against the country and trying to revive terrorism in Punjab. . officials said on Friday.

Officials said a case has been registered against Multani under various sections of the IPC related to waging war against the country.

Officials said a case was also registered against Multani under relevant provisions of the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

A case has been registered against Multani under sections 120B and 121A of the IPC and sections 10, 13, 17, 18 and 18B of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.

The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy hatched by Multani, who was detained in Germany last week, with several other pro-Khalistan elements to radicalize, motivate and recruit youth in Punjab on the ground and on social media platforms. were located abroad to propagate their ideology through Officials said that with the aim of separating Punjab from the Union of India.

Officials said they have been involved in raising funds to buy arms, ammunition and explosives using smuggling networks in Punjab to revive militancy in the state.

Officials further said that Multani has also been in touch with ISI operatives to carry out terror attacks in the financial capital Mumbai and other parts of India.

Officials said registering the case would help the Indian government take necessary action as per law for a speedy investigation so that Multani can be either deported or extradited to the country.
