NIA raids seven places in Punjab in Karnal IED seizure case

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday (June 22, 2022) conducted searches at seven locations in Punjab in connection with the Improvised Explosive Device seizure case at Batrara toll plaza in Haryana’s Karnal in May this year. Searches were conducted in Ludhiana, Ferozepur and Gurdaspur in Punjab.

The counter-terrorism agency claimed to have seized digital equipment, financial transactions and property and other incriminating material during the searches.

The case pertains to seizure of IEDs and arms and ammunition from Batrara toll plaza in Madhuban area of ​​Karnal, in which three IEDs, one pistol, two magazines, 31 live cartridges, six mobiles and 1.30 lakh cash were recovered and four persons were arrested. was arrested. From white Innova.

The case was initially registered on May 5 at Madhuban police station in Karnal district and was re-registered by the NIA on the same day.

During investigation, it was revealed that Pakistan-based operative of BKI (Babar Khalsa International) Harvinder Singh alias Rinda had supplied explosives, arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan’s intelligence agency to carry out terrorist attacks in various parts.
