The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against six terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LEM) outfit, a flagship of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which is operating in Jammu and Kashmir. were planning attacks. and other parts of the country.

The chargesheet includes LeM’s self-styled chief commander Hidayat Ullah Malik and a woman Basirat-ul-Ain, both residents of Shopian in south Kashmir and Mustaq Alam, a resident of Devbahuara-Chhapra in Bihar, and his brother Javed Alam. NIA spokesperson said.

The chargesheet names Jan Mohammad Teli of Anantnag and Mudabir Manzoor of Shopian. Malik, who was arrested from Jammu’s Kunjwani area on February 6, had formed the LeM in August last year.

The NIA said that the LeM was cleverly formed to evade the scrutiny of forces and reduce international pressure on Jaish after the February 14, 2019 attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, in which over 40 jawans were killed .

The looted money was used by LeM terrorists to buy arms from Kashmir and Bihar, the spokesperson said. Malik had also conducted reconnaissance of several security installations in Jammu and Delhi and was in constant touch with his JeM masters in Pakistan.
