Mumbai: At least 14 injured as an under-construction flyover collapses in Bandra Kurla Complex
At least 14 people were injured when a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex in the early hours of Friday. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said the injured have been admitted to the hospital and are being treated. The incident took place at 4.30 am when 24 laborers and two supervisors were working on the spot.
Blood samples taken from some children suffering from ‘mysterious febrile illnesses’ in parts of north Bengal were found to be infected with ‘influenza B’, ‘respiratory syncytial’ and ‘human parainfluenza’ viruses. Speaking to News18.com, Dr Sushant Kumar Roy, Senior Medical Officer (Ophthalmology) and Officer on Special Duty (Public Health) in North Bengal said, “The blood samples were sent for examination to the School of Tropical Medicine and reports Were. Presence ‘Influenza B’, ‘Respiratory syncytial’ and ‘Human parainfluenza’ viruses were found.”
Women CRPF personnel to be inducted for VVIP security for the first time
For the first time, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will introduce women personnel to guard various VVIPs in the country. 10 weeks training for the first batch of 33 women personnel will start soon. These have been selected after getting approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs a few days ago. An official communication accessed by News18 states that an action plan has been submitted by the CRPF to augment the strength of women personnel.
Delhi-Katra Expressway to cut travel time by 6 hours, will be ready in 2 years: Gadkari
Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari recently inspected several expressway projects starting from Delhi including Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. Talking to the media, he also mentioned that the Delhi-Katra Expressway will be launched in 2 years and will reduce the distance from 727 to 572 km.

Entry forbidden for wearing shorts, girl took agricultural entry by wrapping veil
In a strange incident in Assam’s Tezpur district, a girl student was denied entry to the examination hall for wearing shorts at the examination centre. Officials claim that the half pants (shorts) do not align with the prescribed “examination or institute decoration”.
