Henry Nicholls scored 36 off 29 balls as the top scorer for the Blackcaps, with Tom Blundell (30) in an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 66 for his team’s recovery when New Zealand were 62-5.
Medium pacer Mohammad Saifuddin was the home team’s best bowler with 2-28.
Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah said, “The bowlers did a great job to restrict him. We started well with the bat but couldn’t capitalize on it and lost wickets in a cluster. Hopefully we will come back strong in the next match. ”
The fourth match of the series will be played on Wednesday.
