Punjab Congress, which has made Charanjit Channi CM by playing the Dalit card, is now facing a problem regarding casteism. Surjit Dhiman, MLA from Dirba belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), has put forth a new demand in front of the High Command. He has demanded to make at least 2 MLAs ministers in the Punjab cabinet. He says that the party has done a commendable job that while handing over the leadership of the state to the Dalit brotherhood, Channi has been made the Chief Minister. Along with this, the representatives of other communities should also get their due. He has been asking for this for a long time. Talking to Dainik Bhaskar correspondent, Surjit Dhiman has said that if his demand is not accepted, he will take the next decision after talking to the OBC brotherhood.

9 MLAs represent 31% of OBC population
Surjit Dhiman says that Congress has 80 MLAs and 9 of them belong to OBC. Now that the Chief Minister, Jatt Sikh and Hindu faces have been made Deputy Chief Ministers from the Dalit brotherhood. So the people of his community are also demanding that OBC MLAs should also get ministerial posts. He represents the 31 per cent OBC brotherhood. OBC brotherhood should also get the due. At least two out of 9 MLAs should get ministerial berths.

Dhiman has also raised his voice against Captain
Let us inform that Surjit Dhiman, as the Chief Minister of Captain Amarinder Singh, had surprised everyone by saying that he would not contest the next election under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh. Since then he has been in constant discussion. Now their voice has been raised for OBC brotherhood and it has been demanded that when posts are being distributed in the name of caste and religion, then their community should also get due respect.

I have raised AC demand before, but no hearing
Dhiman says this is not the first time that he is not talking about this. Have spoken to the high command in Delhi earlier also and raised this issue in the Legislative Assembly. But I have not been heard. Now that the cabinet is expanding, attention should be paid to this. Because the next government is not to be formed with 34 per cent Dalit votes alone. It is also necessary to take everyone along and their community has been neglected for a long time. Now if there is no hearing then how will the people of OBC brotherhood vote for him.
