Inauguration of the new Parliament House: Amid reports of protests near the new Parliament House to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28, Delhi Police has increased security in the vicinity.

Delhi Police has deployed over 70 policemen, including ACP rank officers, for security and monitoring of the event. The decision was taken after reports of anti-government and anti-PM slogans being written on the walls outside the new Parliament House.

Along with the deployment of police, CCTVs have also been installed for surveillance.

‘Traffic Advisory’

Special arrangements have been made for traffic in the national capital. As per the ongoing traffic advisory, New Delhi district will be considered as a controlled area. Only public transport vehicles, civil service candidates, bonafide residents, labeled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed in the New Delhi area.

“Mother Teresa Ceresent Road, Gol Chakkar Talkatora, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Gol Dak Khana Gol Chakkar, Ashok Road, Gol Chakkar Patel Chowk, Ashok Road, Gol Chakkar Windsor Place, Janpath, Gol Chakkar MLNP, Akbar Road, Gol Chakkar Gol Methi , the area bounded by Akbar Road, Golchakkar GKP, Teen Murti Marg, Golchakkar Teen Murti and Mother Teresa Crescent Road will be considered as regulated areas,” the advisory said.
