New IFSC codes for banks: What you should do before transferring money online – Times of India

Due to the recent amalgamation of some public sector banks, the previous IFSC code was used online banking may no longer be valid. Some public sector banks have been affected and they are Syndicate BankAllahabad Bank, Vijaya BankDena Bank, United Bank Of Indiahandjob Oriental Bank of Commerce, Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank. If you are the owner of any bank account with any of these banks or need to transfer money online through netbanking then please get updated IFSC code first.
Before the amalgamation of these banks IFSC codes can no longer be used for money transfer. Syndicate Bank is now part of Canara Bank while Allahabad Bank has been merged with Indian Bank. On the other hand, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank have now been merged with Bank of Baroda.
If you need to transfer money online to any of these banks then you have to first go to their online banking website and remove the beneficiary from the list of payers. Look for the new IFSC codes and then you have to re-add the details and register them as new beneficiaries including name, account number, contact details and bank details. New IFSC Code. You will be able to transfer funds to these banks only after successful registration of new beneficiaries. So, before hitting the ‘Transfer’ button ask the person to whom you want to send money about the new IFSC Code.
Also, if you have scheduled a standing instruction or payment, you will need to delete it and add such instructions again.
