Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot at Jio World Centre in Mumbai on July 12 in a lavish ceremony that was the talk of the town.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding festivities are far from over. After tying the knot in a grand ceremony and hosting a lavish three-day celebration for numerous celebrities and public figures, Anant and Radhika flew to Jamnagar, Gujarat, for a series of post-wedding ceremonies.
Upon their arrival in Jamnagar on Tuesday, the newlyweds were greeted with a grand and heartfelt welcome. The small city, which holds significant sentimental value for both Anant and Radhika, came alive with celebrations.
Following their warm reception, Radhika performed a traditional Griha Pravesh ceremony at the Ambani residence in Jamnagar. A viral video showed Radhika performing the customary homecoming ritual for new brides in India by dipping her feet in red dye and walking on cloth to leave her footprints, symbolising her entry into Anant’s life and home as his wife. Earlier, the Ambanis hosted Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar that included a performance by international superstar Rihanna.
Anant, the son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, chose Jamnagar as the destination for their pre-wedding celebration for its personal significance. Anant had shared with India Today that his grandmother was born in the city, and both his grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani, and his father began their business there. He expressed his joy at being able to celebrate in a place so integral to his family’s history. “This is my dadi’s janmbhoomi and my dada and papa’s karmbhoomi,” Anant stated.
