Never went to Dubai, was with family in Maldives: Sameer Wankhede of NCB on Malik’s allegations

New Delhi: Responding to Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik’s comments, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal chief Sameer Wankhede has said that he is being harassed along with his family for the last 15 days. NCB’s zonal director Wankhede is heading the investigation into the Mumbai drug case, which involved Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.

Responding to the allegations leveled by the NCP leader, Wankhede said, “The word ‘extortion’ is a disgusting word. I had gone to Maldives with the permission of the competent authority. I went with my children and family with the permission of the government. If he calls that extortion, it is not acceptable.”

Responding to Wankhede’s statement, Malik wrote on his official Twitter handle, “Sameer Wankhede has admitted that he had visited Maldives but denied traveling to Dubai. Here is the proof of his trip to Dubai with his sister. Sameer Wankhede was at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai on 10 December 2020. Their lies have been exposed.”

In defense of Wankhede, NCB has issued a factual report regarding the issue. ANI has shared this report on its official Twitter handle.

Ashok Mutha Jain, DDG, NCB said on his official Twitter handle, “After joining NCB, there was no application from his (Sameer Wankhede) side to go to Dubai. He sought permission to go to Maldives with his family. Was.”

Earlier, NCP leader Nawab Malik had leveled several allegations against Wankhede, including registering fake cases against celebrities. He said, “They (BJP) have a puppet – Wankhede. They raise fake cases against people. I challenge Wankhede that he will lose his job within a year. You have put us in jail, this one. People of the country will not remain silent without seeing you behind bars. We have evidence of fake cases,” Malik was quoted by ANI in its report.
