Mohammed Siraj recently became the top-ranked ODI bowler after impressive performances against Sri Lanka and New Zealand

India have started 2023 in a dominant fashion by winning four consecutive series as they have better wins over Sri Lanka and New Zealand at home. They whitewashed both their opponents 3–0 in the ODI series and beat them 2–1 in T20Is as well.

Apart from established players, India’s stupendous performance has been due to rising stars like Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Siraj.

While Suryakumar continues to dazzle with his brilliant strokeplay, Gill has shown early signs of greatness with record-breaking innings in ODIs and T20Is.

However, the rapid improvement shown by Siraj in ODIs has been quite impressive considering how attractive he was in Test cricket in the early days of his India career. However, the right-arm pacer has worked on his limited-overs skills as well and the result is that he is the top-ranked ODI bowler today.

While he basked in the emotion, the 28-year-old has now started sweating it out for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India will now host Australia for a four-Test series starting February 9 in Nagpur.

All India’s top Test stars including skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin have started their preparations from Friday.

Ashwin shared a clip from India’s practice session in Nagpur on his Instagram story.

However, he also shared a couple of funny videos with Indian teammate Siraj, in which he is asking the fast bowler how he feels after being named No.1. 1 ODI bowler.

,There is a lot going on, socha nahi tha ki number 1 bowler banuga, It’s a great feeling (I feel great, I never imagined being the No.1 bowler),” Siraj said.

The clip was followed by one in which Ashwin asked a question in Tamil, which left Siraj in splits.
