‘Nerve racking, admirable’: Director Shankar all praises for Suriya’s Jai Bheem

Jai Bheem is a courtroom drama inspired by true events that happened in Tamil Nadu in the 1990s.

Director Shankar is the latest addition to the list of celebrities who were impressed by Suriya’s film ‘Jai Bheem’. Directed by TJ Gyanvel, the film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video from November 2. Shankar recently watched the film praising the entire team of Jai Bheem. He called the film ‘a voice for the voiceless’ and praised Suriya for showing compassion through his films.

A month after the film’s release, highly rated Tamil director Shankar wrote on his Facebook page that the film ‘Jai Bheem’ has again proved that a powerful film can make a huge difference.

Calling the film a “tough emotional rollercoaster”, he said that “director TJ Gyanvel’s details and realistic approach were nerve-racking and admirable.”

In the film, Surya plays the role of lawyer Chandru and comes to the aid of the poor people of the Irular community, who have no means to cope with the brutality of an inhuman police force that tries to take advantage of their compulsion.
