She met Rishi Kapoor at the age of 15 and got married in 1980 after working together in several films. Remembering the actor, Neetu Kapoor shared a hilarious incident from their wedding ceremony.
Recently, Neetu Kapoor appeared on Swiggy’s YouTube channel to promote her film Jug Jug Jio along with her co-stars Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani. In a candid chat with the influential Dolly Singh, the actors reminisced about their wedding days. It all started when Dolly Singh asked if given a chance, would she attend X’s wedding. Responding to this, Anil Kapoor jokingly said that he himself was not present at their wedding. He said that there were only five people in his marriage whom he had to find himself.
On the other hand, Neetu Kapoor revealed that there was a huge crowd of about 5000 guests at her wedding. Recalling their wedding, Neetu said that the crowd made her and Rishi Kapoor very uncomfortable and they both fainted. “I fainted because there were so many people, and my husband was scared of the crowd, so he fainted before he got on the horse. So he was eating brandy. I was eating brandy. So that’s how our marriage went.” I was drunk when I was taking rounds,” she said.
She also revealed that there were pick-pocketers at her wedding who were dressed well and gifted her stones and slippers. Due to the presence of many people, they could not even distinguish between the real guests and the gatekeepers.
