According to the letter from NBEMS, a total of 1,76,427 candidates applied for NEET PG 2023 after the application window opened from January 7 to January 27.

National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has ruled out the possibility of postponing the exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2023 The date was set for March 5. The aspirants of NEET PG 2023 are demanding the postponement of the exam dates citing lack of time for preparation. Recently, NBEMS in a written reply to the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) President Dr Rohan Krishnan said the decision to hold the exams on earlier announced dates would help bring the academic calendar back on track after the delay during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Posting the letter from NBEMS on Twitter, Dr Krishnan wrote, “@MoHFW_INDIA received this letter from NBE in response to our request to postpone NEET PG. We wish it could have been handled better. @FAIMA_INDIA_ @OfficeOf_MM.

As per the letter from NBEMS, a total of 1,76,427 candidates applied for NEET PG after the application window opened from January 7 to January 27. The board said that the postponement at this stage would bring undue inconvenience to the students who have already made travel arrangements to the test cities. Moreover, the admit cards have also been issued and the preparation for the exam is at a very advanced stage.

Responding to the tweet, NEET PG 2023 aspirants criticized FAIMA for mishandling the matter. One user wrote, “Why don’t you try to meet PM or President and inform that these organizations are very weak so please shut down if you can’t give justice to your juniors.” (sic)

Another user, Dr Anuj S Yadav, who claimed himself to be a student of urology, said, “Why are you making this a publicity stunt, what is the point of issuing this notice 3 days before the exam, we Completely failed to deliver its message.” And failed to help the lovely juniors. Accept it sir and understand that there is no point in campaigning, the students trusted you. (sic)

NEET PG 2023 Aspirants First approached the Supreme Court With a petition seeking delay in the exam dates. However, the apex court refused to give any relief to such candidates and gave the go-ahead for the examinations to be held on the earlier announced date.
