NBEMS conducted NEET-PG, 2023 on computer based platform for 2,08,898 candidates at 902 test centers in 277 cities.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday made a surprise visit to the NEET-PG exam center in Patiala to review the security arrangements.

During this, he also interacted with the parents of the candidates.

A statement from the ministry said that this is the first time that the Union Health Minister has visited the National Board of Medical Examinations (NBEMS) examination center during an examination.

“Visited NEET-PG exam center in Patiala, Punjab and took stock of the arrangements,” he said in a tweet in Hindi.

He appeared satisfied with the arrangements and extended his best wishes to the students appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-PG examinations.

“I had the opportunity to interact with the parents of the students during my visit to the Patiala exam centre. I wish them all the best for today’s exam.

Mandaviya also paid obeisance at the Shri Kali Devi Mandir and Gurudwara Shri Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala.

A strict vigil is being maintained at all examination centers under NBEMS’s zero-tolerance policy against unfair means, which includes biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, document verification, mobile phone jammers, the statement from the Union health ministry said. , but it is not limited to these.

NBEMS chief Dr Abhijat Seth supervised the conduct of the examination from the command center in Ahmedabad.

A command center was also set up at the Dwarka office of NBEMS to monitor the examination and resolve the issues of the candidates. The command center also received live feed from various test centres. A police checkpost and medical aid rooms were also set up as part of the emergency response team.

A surveillance command center set up by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Mumbai had 10 associates with state-of-the-art technology.

A dedicated security command center was also set up in Patna, while regional command centers monitored operational parameters to ensure that the exam started and ended on time. All the state governments were asked to provide adequate security and uninterrupted power supply at all the examination centres.
