Nawazuddin Siddiqui roped in for Kangana Ranaut’s production ‘Tiku weds Sheru’

After making his debut as a co-director of the National Award winning film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in 2019, Kangana Ranaut The upcoming film Tiku Weds Sheru is all set to make his digital debut as a producer with a love story and a satire. Kangana on Tuesday shared an update about the production venture. The actress took to her Instagram and announced that the Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui Tiku Weds joins Sheru’s team.

The official Instagram handle of Kangana’s production house Manikarnika Films shared the announcement. “Best actor of our generation joins Tiku’s team from Sheru…. We are fortunate to have our lion #TikuwedsSheru filming begins soon,” read the post along with Nawazuddin’s picture.

Kangana shared the post on her official Instagram welcoming Nawazuddin into the team of the film. “Welcome to the team, sir @nawazuddin._siddiqui @manikarnikafilms #tikuwedssheru,” wrote Kangana.

Earlier, Kangana shared a glimpse of the preproduction meeting she had with her team. Manikarnika Films Production shared the update on Instagram, “Today the preproduction meeting for Tiku Weds Sheru took place at @manikarnikafilms office @kanganaranaut, bringing together a dream team, more details will be revealed soon. #TikuwedsSheru.”

Earlier, late actor Irrfan Khan was supposed to work in Tiku Weds Sheru. This is the first time that Nawazuddin and Kangana will work together on a project. Whether Kangana will also be seen in the film or not is yet to be confirmed.

The shooting of the film will start shortly.

Talking about the project, Kangana said in a statement, “With Tiku Weds Sheru, Manikarnika Films forays into the digital space. It is a satire with a love story and deep humour. In the digital space, we Will do more edgy, new-age and niche content. We think the digital audience has evolved a bit more than the regular cinema audience.”

Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Films will also sign new talent as they work on more projects. “We will also launch new talent and take risks with new concepts,” Kangana said.

The actress is gearing up for her next film ‘Dhaakad’. The film is touted to be an espionage thriller featuring Kangana as Agent Agni. Arjun Rampal plays the antagonist Rudraveer. The Rajneesh Razi Ghai directorial is slated to release on October 1. Apart from “Dhaakad”, Kangana’s upcoming roster includes Emergency, Thalaivi and Tejas.
